David Maloni, ArrowStream's economist, noted this week that chicken wing prices haven’t rallied as they usually do this time of year.
"August 31st domestic chicken wing stocks were the largest since December, but still 26 percent below the previous year," said Maloni. "August chicken wing disappearance (think: consumption) was 1.6 percent less than 2018. It would not surprise me if chicken wing disappearance continues to suffer."
What's the Cause?
Maloni states these challenges are mostly "due to the inflated price levels and better annual gains in chicken production in the coming months."
